Cheerleading is a fun and challenging sport that consists of many different elements. It aims to improve students’ self-confidence and is very mush based on a team ethos.
5 Aspects of Cheerleading
Cheer and Motions - perhaps the most important aspect is the cheering. It involves set motions which are put to a spoken cheer. It involves coordination and encourages projection of voice and teamwork. It symbolises the whole ethos of cheerleading and cheer spirit.
Dance - every good cheerleading routine involves dance. This directly relates to the school and is the main method for linking all other areas of cheerleading together.
Jumps - cheerleading has its own set of jumps which are set to counts. We would endeavor through practice to increase strength and flexibility whilst maintaining correct techniques.
Tumbling - cheerleading at all levels involves some degree of tumbling. This would greatly depend on the cheerleaders' natural abilities and willingness to learn.
Stunting - the most exciting area of cheerleading is without a doubt the stunting. Through procedures such as drills and stunt progression we would be able to teach stunting in a manner of forms to a very high level safely.
5-11 years – The Fireflies. Classes in Shirley & Sutton Coldfield. Fantastic fun & fitness, dance, pom poms, cheer and motions jumps and very basic stunts. Its great fun come and join in try a FREE session.
