The catchy tunes and fun, quick Irish dances make this a most enjoyable class.

Age: 4 years +

Basic technique is taught alongside rhythm and beat and the children explore the different caeli and set dances.

Irish Dancing is a group of traditional dance forms originating in Ireland, which can broadly be divided into social dance and performance dances.

Irish social dances can be divided further into caeli and set dancing. Caeli dances are danced by varied formations of two to sixteen people.

Irish dancing, popularised in 1994 by the world famous show ‘Riverdance’ is best known for its rapid leg and foot movements, with the body and arms being kept largely stationary.

Please note: The above ages are used as a guideline only.

WHAT TO WEAR? Our recommended and regulation uniform is required for this class:

Girls – Pink leotard, pink wrap over skirt, pink ballet socks and pink ballet shoes with the elastic sewn in and hair tied back.
Boys – Black shorts and white t-shirt, white ankle socks and black ballet shoes with elastic sewn in.
