The students are taught to link basic steps and rhythm to music following the IDTA Syllabus.
They are encouraged to develop the basic tap technique and demonstrate small set exercises to music.
A fun, energetic class; the students enjoy using percussion instruments to enhance their learning of rhythm and beat and using their feet to express themselves.
We offer all children the opportunity to partake in the IDTA graded, rosette and medals examinations for this grade and to be part of our presentation evenings and bi-annual show.
If the class follows on or after a ballet class than the children can wear their regulation and school ballet uniform, but with the addition of tap shoes with elastic instead of laces.
If the child just does tap than the uniform is as follows: Black sleeveless lycra leotard and blue circular skirt, black ankle socks and tap shoes with elastic instead of laces.
Our in house dance shop can provide all of the above, please ask the receptionist, or you can click here to order online Uniform Order however if you wish to source your own please ensure that you get the correct colour, style and brand as there are many other brands available.
Tap shoes are required for this class.
